Blog 22: Finding the “forest through the trees”

I arrived in The Philippines this stretch with the goal of securing the house by installing the soffits and windows. I would build some temporary doors and the house is then protected from the elements come the rainy season. Well Covid 19 arrived at the same time and changed everything. Now I was going down my punchlist and started tackling little jobs that were not of high priority. Sure enough, you start chipping away at the little things and soon you can see a house being built — forest through the trees.

Little (maybe not so little) tasks that are getting completed include roughed in patio ceilings, initial marsilya skim coat, Hardiflex ceilings in some simpler room areas, improved waterline and bathroom partitions.

Noel installing the ceiling in the servants quarters (sorry for the drill gun pic).

I’ll keep this short to avoid becoming circumlocutious. Circumlocutious- the kind of words you read in books when you are retired AND under stay at home orders.
